Who can apply?

After a more than long compulsory break from the NMUN Conference due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are happy to make a return back to normality and participate in the National Model United Nations conference in New York City in April 2023. Now we are looking for you, to participate as a delegate in next year’s conference!

The application process is already open and we are looking forward to your applications! The NMUN Delegation of the Club of Hohenheim is open to all undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD Students of the University of Stuttgart, Hohenheim, other Universities of Applied Sciences, as well as the Dualen Hochschule in Stuttgart and Esslingen. Your field of studies, semester or experience does not matter. We are rather looking for motivated and committed students with rhetorical skills, team player qualities and interest in International Politics and the United Nations.

The preparation for the NMUN will last about 6 months, starting in the middle of October. The weekly meetings will most likely take place every Monday evening (in a hybrid form, if possible) , so be prepared for practicing your negotiation skills, getting to know international relations better and enjoy a drink with your fellow delegates every MUN-Monday.

You should be aware that the NMUN Project does not only include the conference in New York but also some preparation beforehand. Do not be scared by the amount of work but make sure to evaluate realistically whether you will be able to meet those requirements. We wish for all delegates to take part in our weekly meetings as this preparation is essential foryour success at the conference. Please find a timetable on the upcoming months below. Also, please note that, as this project largely depends on fundraising, there is a deposit of approx imately 350 Euro for each delegate. Depending on the results of the fundraising, parts of this deposit might be refunded.

Furthermore, good English skills are important but this should not stop you from applying! Our experience has shown that most students underestimate their skills and that most students’ proficiency is good enough for the conference. We also encourage younger students to apply!

Application Process

We kindly ask you to submit the following requirements in English by the 7th of October 2022:
1) CV with photo

2) Short Video max. 3 minutes (be creative) and answer the following questions:

a) Who are you?
b) Why do you want to participate at NMUN 2023?
c) Why are you the perfect delegate for NMUN 2023 delegation?

After your successful application, we will invite you to a personal interview of about 15 to 30 minutes, expected to take place from the 12th to the 14th of October via a video call.
